Host a JAM House Concert!

October 24, 2012

I absolutely love playing House Concerts because they make it possible to connect with friends and fans from all over the country, and beyond. Heck anyone with a front porch, living room, barn, backyard, patio, deck or airplane hangar (yes I've played in an airplane hanger) can host a House Concert. The events are designed not to be a burden for the host. Your friends and guests can help by bring a covered dish, desert, appetizer or "adult beverages" along with a suggested donation to the artist. The weekend events usually

You Play My Heart - john Arthur martinez

Album Review by: Cheryl Harvey Hill, Sr. Staff Journalist

There was much to like on this album and it dispenses some sound advice for surviving life like “Dare To Dream Out Loud” and “Learn To Sing In The Rain”, but john Arthur martinez definitely demonstrated what a great story teller he is on “Emmylou's Guitar”. This is one of the three songs on the album written solely

Out Of The Chute - John Arthur Martinez!

October 01, 2012

You know the saying 'anywhere a truck driver eats, you know the food has got to be good'? Well, that's how I felt about John Arthur Martinez when I first heard about him. He's a good friend and has done projects with my friend Mike Blakely. Anyone Mike associates with just has to be good, in my opinion. Mike only works with the best. With that in mind, I knew I had to get to know more about jAm. Yep, that's how he writes it and what his friends call him. It's a nod to his writing-major past... after the poet, e.e.

August 10, 2012

August 09, 2012, 5:45 pm by Alexandria Randolph

Resident musician john Arthur martinez is busy recording a song of inspiration featuring Leo Manzano, Granite Shoals’ Olympic silver medalist.

His new album, "You Play My Heart,” will include a track called Dare to Dream Out Loud, a song that he began writing in 2007. He said the song was inspired by Manzano’s participation in the NCAA Championships.

"I wrote (the song) just before the 2008 Olympic Games,” martinez said. "It was written from the

Kent Finlay Songswap w Ketchum, Snider, Maines, Robison and more

March 22, 2012

I'm not sure what to make of this. It appears Hal Ketchum is making a stand, Todd Snider and I are distracted by a fan, Big John Mills is reaching for a brew, Kent & Lloyd Maines are discussing the music business, Terri Hendrix finds something really funny, Bruce Robison is tuning all the while James McMurtry is on a bathroom break or a wine run. --jam
